Outdoor Tennis Courts 1–7 at the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center are anticipated to be closed for construction from August 18, 2025, through June 2026. These courts have not undergone a full rebuild in over 35+ years.
The upcoming project will address long-standing issues such as court settling, cracking, and drainage problems. The new design includes a addressing the soil foundation, with strategically engineered solutions to prevent future settling.
Additional improvements will include:
New fencing integrated with a concrete ribbon curb
A refreshed court layout
New nets and standards
Updated surface color coating and line stripping
Upgraded LED lighting to help reduce energy cost and light pollution
These enhancements will significantly improve playability and overall experience for the Winnetka tennis community.
The A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center staff is excited about this much-needed renovation and looks forward to welcoming the public back to brand-new courts in 2026.
