FEEDBACK CONTINUES TO BE INVITED FROM COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2023
Winnetka, IL; January 24, 2023 — The Winnetka Park District is thrilled with the strong attendance and participation by 200+ community members at the Elder Lane + Centennial Beach Project Workshop / Open House held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Winnetka Community House. The event showcased the extensive planning of the Elder Lane + Centennial Beach Project, a part of the 2030 Lakefront Master Plan. Six different stations, with a total of 36 design boards, displayed breakwater and beach designs, dog park/beach designs, stormwater management plans, and more. Each station was staffed with professional consultants and/or Park District representatives present to help summarize the status of the project and answer any questions.
The Park District welcomed feedback from attendees for final design plans. Opportunities for attendees to share their thoughts and ideas included comment cards, ability to post sticky notes on design boards, and provide online comment submissions using computers present. Rotating workshops also were held, allowing area residents to have direct dialogue with Park District representatives to ask questions and share their ideas about this project.
