Playgrounds Open

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has released guidelines allowing units of local government to determine if outdoor playgrounds can open. In collaboration with the Village of Winnetka, the Winnetka Park District has openedĀ all of its outdoor playgrounds!

When using playgrounds, we ask you to please follow CDC and IDPH health and safety guidelines, including:

  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Wash your hands before and after visiting the playground
  • Maintain a physical distanceĀ of at least six feet
  • Be prepared to wear a face covering if six feet of distance can’t be maintained
  • Cover coughs or sneezes (into the sleeve or elbow, not hands)

Playgrounds are not cleaned or sanitized. Restrooms and water fountains will remain closed, so please plan accordingly when visiting playgrounds.
