Commissioner Christina Codo Recognized with Distinctive Board Member Award by IAPD

February 8, 2024; Winnetka, IL – The Winnetka Park District is proud to announce that Christina Codo, the President of the Park Board, has been honored with the Distinctive Board Member Award by the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) in Chicago,  January 27, 2024.

“Congratulations on the hard work and leadership that Christina Codo was recognized for at the state conference,” said the new Executive Director of Winnetka Park District, Shannon Nazzal. “This award is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of our board leadership through the commitment to provide great programming and service to the residents of Winnetka.”  

Codo, who has served on the Winnetka Park District Board since 2019, received the Distinctive Board Member Award from IAPD for the achievements in the Board Member Development program. As stated on IAPD’s website, “The program gives recognition to local board members who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty through committee involvement, attendance at continuing educational opportunities and achievements at the local, state and national levels.”

“I am deeply honored to receive the Distinctive Board Member Award from the Illinois Association of Park Districts,” said Christina Codo. “This recognition is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated team at the Winnetka Park District and the support of our community. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the enhancement of our parks and recreation programs.”

As noted in their February 8, 2024 Committee of the Whole meeting, Winnetka Park District Commissioners recognized this program and involvement with IAPD and IPRA is a benefit to District residents through volunteerism and continuing education in the field of parks and recreation. President Codo encouraged all Commissioners to apply.
