Winnetka's Fourth of July: Schedule of Events

Firecracker 5K Run | Thursday, July 4 | 7:30am

Bring your family, friends, and neighbors out to join in on the fun! This 5k race along the Green Bay Trail is a great way to kick off the Fourth of July festivities. Chicago Race Management will track time and post live results throughout the race.

Online registration is now closed. In-person registration will open at 7am on July 4. 

Race check-in is from 7 – 7:45am. This event is held rain or shine. 

Parade | Thursday, July 4 | 10am

Support local organizations and your neighbors as they march in the parade alongside orchestras, pipe bands, jugglers, Uncle Sam on stilts, and more!

The parade starts on the corner of Elm Street + Glendale Avenue and will proceed east down Elm Street to finish at Village Green Park.

Events on the Green | Thursday, July 4 | 11am - 1:30pm

  • After the parade, join us at the Village Green Park for the Village Green Park for Fourthfest activities along with the traditional flag-raising ceremony, a children’s flag parade, and our historic family foot races! Compete for the coveted family trophy and let the bragging rights commence!

  • Face Painting 

Concert and Jesse White Tumblers| Thursday, July 4 | 7pm

Enjoy live music by Shout Out before the fireworks and a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers at 8pm. Food and dessert will be available for purchase. 

The concert and Jesse White Tumblers will be held at Duke Child’s Field, 1321 Willow Road. 

Fireworks: 9:20pm | Thursday, July 4 | 9:20pm

Join us for the the best fireworks show on the North Shore! Viewing for fireworks will be held on Duke Child’s Field.
