Winnetka Park District Marketing Team and Board President Earn Multiple Awards at Illinois Park and Recreation Association Conference

The Winnetka Park District is proud to announce that its marketing team and Board President have been recognized for their exceptional contributions at the 2025 Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) Annual Conference and the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD)/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference held last week in Chicago.
The Winnetka Park District’s Marketing Team won several prestigious awards, showcasing their creativity and commitment to community engagement:

1st Place: Agency Showcase Award for Virtual Brochure, recognized for its user-friendly design and innovative approach to communicating the district’s programs and services.

3rd Place: Sports Category of the “Give Us Your Best Shot” photo contest for the compelling image titled “Tug of War.” The photo was captured at last September’s Fall Fest by Kate Erickson, Marketing and Communications Manager at Winnetka Park District.

Honorable Mention: Recreation/People at Play Category for the heartwarming photo “Egg Collection” capturing the excitement of the district’s annual community event. The photo was captured by Skylar Greenberg, Graphic Design and Media Specialist at Winnetka Park District.
Kate Erickson and Skylar Greenberg proudly accepted the awards and participated in two days of professional development at the conference, in which Greenberg created and presented a seminar titled, Marketing – Taylor’s Version. “We are thrilled to receive these honors, which speak to the ongoing efforts of the marketing team to engage with the community,” said Kate Erickson. “It’s inspiring to learn from others in the industry and continue improving how we connect with our residents.”
Additionally, Christina Codo, President of the Winnetka Park District’s Board of Commissioners, earned her Master Board Member designation from Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) on Saturday, January 25. This prestigious award is the highest distinction in the IAPD’s Board Member Development Program.
The Master Board Member Award recognizes board members who go above and beyond in their commitment to becoming knowledgeable and effective representatives of their communities. To earn this status, members must participate in educational opportunities, attend events, serve on committees, and demonstrate leadership at local, state, and national levels.
The Winnetka Park District continues to demonstrate its commitment to excellence, with both the marketing team’s creative achievements and Christina Codo’s leadership as an example of community dedication and growth.
