Winnetka's Fourth of July: Schedule of Events
Firecracker 5K Run | Thursday, July 4 | 7:30am
Bring your family, friends, and neighbors out to join in on the fun! This 5k race along the Green Bay Trail is a great way to kick off the Fourth of July festivities. Chicago Race Management will track time and post live results throughout the race.
Race check-in is from 7 – 7:45am. This event is held rain or shine.
Parade | Thursday, July 4 | 10am
Support local organizations and your neighbors as they march in the parade alongside orchestras, pipe bands, jugglers, Uncle Sam on stilts, and more!
The parade starts on the corner of Elm Street + Glendale Avenue and will proceed east down Elm Street to finish at Village Green Park.
Events on the Green | Thursday, July 4 | 11am - 1:30pm
- After the parade, join us at the Village Green Park for the Village Green Park for Fourthfest activities along with the traditional flag-raising ceremony, a children’s flag parade, and our historic family foot races! Compete for the coveted family trophy and let the bragging rights commence!Â

Concert: 7pm
Enjoy live music by Shout Out before the fireworks and a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers at 8pm. Food and dessert will be available for purchase.Â
 Join us for the the best fireworks show on the North Shore! Viewing for fireworks will be on Duke Child’s Field.Â

Join us for the best fireworks show on the North Shore! Viewing for the fireworks will be on the turf at Skokie Playfield.Â
Please note, the fireworks viewing is not at Duke Childs Field this year due to the stormwater construction project. Parking is first come first serve at the Park District facility lots.
Security Measures
Please note, there will be increased security measures during all Fourth of July festivities. A security team will be on-site to conduct a bag check at the entrance of the fireworks viewing area.Â
