Winnetka, IL; September 14, 2023 — A ribbon cutting, and dedication event was held Friday afternoon, September 8 at Dwyer Park to recognize The Winnetka Woman’s Club for its $100,000 donation for improvements, maintenance, and repairs to the Winnetka Park District’s Dwyer Park gazebo. The donation also funds additional bench seating within the gazebo.
The Winnetka Woman’s Club members, along with Winnetka Park District board members and staff, were in attendance to unveil a plaque recognizing The Winnetka Woman’s Club for its generous donation. Christina Codo, the Winnetka Park District’s Board President, presented the plaque, located near the gazebo, to The Winnetka’s Woman’s Club members in attendance.
The Winnetka Woman’s Club is a 114-year-old organization dedicated to fellowship and service to the Winnetka community. In December 2022, The Winnetka Woman’s Club decided to dissolve its club. The Winnetka Woman’s Club Board of Directors chose to use funds to donate to local organizations that will continue to make the Winnetka community better and stronger. We are so grateful for the lasting legacy the Winnetka Woman’s Club has left to the Park District.
