Adult + Tot Basketball

AGES: 2 – 3

This is a great opportunity to spend quality, active time with your pint-sized athlete! Age-appropriate drills, games, and equipment are used.

Lil’ Dribblers

AGES: 3 – 5

This program introduces children to the game of basketball in a safe, fun, and exciting environment. Our curriculum uses age-appropriate activities and games designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills, hand-eye coordination, listening skills, and the ability to follow directions.

Basketball Clinic 101

AGES: 5 – 8

Players develop early basketball skills, including shooting, dribbling, and passing. All instruction is game/drill-oriented with mini-games played every week. This class is for beginners looking to understand the game, learn new skills, and have fun!

Basketball Clinic 102

AGES: 6 – 9

The next step in basketball instruction, this class will build upon the fundamentals taught in the Basketball 101 class. A slightly faster-paced environment will be geared around competitive play, encouraging tactics such as attacking the basket and aggressive defense. Players should have basic knowledge of the rules and be able to dribble comfortably to succeed in the class.

Basketball Clinic 201

AGES: 9 – 12

Players begin to develop more advanced skills such as various guard/post techniques, setting screens, moving without the ball, and offensive spacing. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, helpline, and boxing out. Players spend time developing their shots using proper mechanics to be effective further from the basket. Scrimmages are played every week.

Storm Basketball Skills Clinic

GRADES: 4 – 8

These clinics are designed for the competitive basketball player looking to advance and learn new skills in the off-season. Participants will be divided by grade.

Program Policies

Recreation Refunds

Starting January 1, 2022, the recreation department will reinstate a cancellation fee of $10 for programs and events. Refunds may be prorated for programs already in session. Fees and refunds will be charged at the discretion of recreation staff, determined based on each instance. Reasons the fee may be waived include: illness, injury, and hardship.

Recreation COVID-19 Related Refunds

A full refund will be applied to your household automatically for all programs canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. See our COVID-19 page for more information.
