- Moody’s Rating: Moody’s Investor Service has given the Park District a rating of Aa1, citing well-managed financial operations that yield stable operations and ample reserve levels.
- Financial Excellence Award: For the past 13 years, the Park District has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

In 2019, the Illinois General Assembly passed Public Act 101-0504. The law requires the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) to post employer costs and participation information on its website.
