Learn to Skate Curriculum

In a continued effort to provide the best quality of instruction for all skaters, United States Figure Skating Association has introduced the new and improved Learn to Skate USA curriculum, which is recognized as the world’s best ice skating program. It is endorsed by US Figure Skating, USA Hockey, US Speedskating, and the Special Olympics. Winnetka Ice Arena is proud to implement the Learn to Skate USA curriculum for our students.

Snowplow Sam Levels 1-2 (ages 3-6)
Introductory level classes that help brand new skaters gain confidence and learn basic skating skills.

Basic Skills Levels 1-6 (ages 6+)
For ages 6+, these classes provide the best foundation for figure skating, hockey, and speedskating. Great for brand new skaters or skaters with some previous instruction. 

Pre-Free Skate, Free Skate 1-6 & Advanced Free Skate (ages 6+)
More advanced classes designed to teach a variety of progressive skating skills. 

Adult Skating (ages 18+)
No experience necessary – beginner through advanced welcome. Learn the basics to enjoy recreational skating or develop a solid foundation for learning more advanced skills.
