Health + Safety Procedures

Your family’s health and safety is our top priority. Park District staff have worked hard to reformat our programs and camps to create as safe of an environment as we can for all participants. Below is a comprehensive list of the adjustments made.

Smaller Group Sizes

The size of each class/program has been drastically reduced so that we can maintain small groups of 15 participants or less (as few as four participants for many programs). This allows participants to spread out and ensures that staff are able to monitor and enforce social distancing.

Outdoors (when possible)

Although it is fall and colder weather is approaching, staff are making every effort to hold programs outdoors whenever possible. For all indoor programs, participants will remain in small groups and participate in activities that allow them to keep a social distance from others.

Sanitizing & Cleaning

Enhanced cleaning procedures have been implemented across all facilities. We have changed our schedules to allow for cleaning and sanitizing between programs and classes. Additionally, all facilities have sanitizing stations throughout.

Staff Training

In addition to our regular training, all staff have received extensive training on proper COVID-19 safety and health procedures.

Face Coverings

All staff and participants will be required to wear a face covering in indoor spaces. The only exceptions are for players on the tennis court and freestyle session skaters on the ice. In these instances, players are allowed to remove their coverings but must maintain at least a six foot distance from others. Participants are responsible for bringing their own face coverings.

No Shared Equipment

All participants are required to provide their own equipment. Loaner equipment (e.g., tennis racquets, golf clubs , etc.) will not be available.

Common Areas

All lounges and other gathering areas are closed.

Program/Facility-Specific Guidelines

Please refer to each program and facility for more detailed information on guidelines and procedures.

Although we have made these adjustments, there is always a risk of being exposed to COVID-19 when participating in group activities. We encourage parents to consider and properly weigh these risks for their child and family and only do what they feel most comfortable with.
