Playing for Parkinson’s

Area resident Mike DeBartolo lives with Parkinson’s and enjoys staying active playing tennis with family and friends. This year he is teaming up to host a tennis event with the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center. The late Art Nielsen Jr had Parkinson’s and was an avid tennis player. Mike, the Nielsen family, the A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center, and event partners the Parkinson’s Foundation and Northwestern University Parkinson’s Center hope you can join us in this fun way to play with and for Parkinson’s!

24 Hours of Tennis Marathon

Saturday, July 10 at 12pm to Sunday, July 11 at 12pm
The 24 Hour Tennis Marathon invites the community to come together while raising awareness and funding for Parkinson’s. Players will be on the court for 24 hours.

Tennis Clinic for Players with Parkinson’s

Saturday, July 10 at 2-4pm
A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center teaching pros will lead beginners, intermediate, and advanced player groups in a fun instructional tennis clinic. To learn more or RSVP, please email champions@nullparkinson.org.

 

Exhibition Match

Saturday, July 10 at 4-5pm
All Tennis Marathon participants and donors are invited to attend. Players include:

  • Robert Stineman, Stanford All American, twice Illinois State High School Singles Champion
  • Tom Fawcett, Stanford All American
  • Dennis Nevolo, University of Illinois All American, formerly ranked #300 in the world
  • Konrad Zieba, Northwestern University Top Singles Player
  • Josh Hagar, Notre Dame Top Singles Player
  • Connor Roth, University of Illinois Top Player
