COVID-19 Updates

Per IDPH’s announcement on January 18, our region (Region 10) is now under less restrictive Tier 2 mitigations. In accordance with the guidelines, we will be resuming select indoor and group recreation activities at our facilities. See below for details.

We’ll continue to reassess program and service offerings as new guidance is released. We’ll communicate changes via email and on this page.

 

Tier 2 Mitigation Changes

Face coverings are required at all times while participating in activities at the Park District. This includes both indoor and outdoor activities.

Recreation Programs

Snowshoeing / Outdoor Adventures: Ages six and up. Register online.

Popup sports: Outdoor nerf and flag football for ages seven and up. Programs are organized ad hoc, pending weather. Email jjanesku@nullwinpark.org to receive program announcements.

Virtual live fitness classes: Yoga and HIIT classes for adults. Register online.

A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center

Group lessons: The winter session will begin the week of January 25. Participants have been sent a separate email with more information.

Court reservations: Singles and doubles allowed. Patrons can reserve in advance by calling (847) 501-2065 ext 0. Learn more.

Private / semi-private lessons: Available by reservation. Call (847) 501-6135 to book a lesson. Learn more.

Winnetka Ice Arena

Private lessons: Private lessons are available for all ages. For more information, email Christine Condon at ccondon@nullwinpark.org.

Group lessons: Winter classes will begin the week of January 25. Limited spots are available. Contact Christine Condon at ccondon@nullwinpark.org for availability.

Gullen’s Pond: Open for public skate and hockey at select times. Patrons must reserve and pay in advance online. Learn more.

Freestyle sessions: Sessions will resume January 25. Patrons must reserve and pay in advance online.

Indoor public skating: Currently not available indoors. Public skating is available outdoors at Gullen’s Pond with advance registration. 

Ice rentals: Indoor ice rentals are unavailable. All available outdoor ice has been booked for the 2021 season.

Winnetka Golf Club

Group lessons: The junior winter session III and women’s winter session II will start the week of February 9 as originally planned. Register online.

Private lessons: Indoor private lessons are available for all ages and skill levels. Call (847) 501-2050 ext 0 to book a lesson. Learn more.

Par 3 course and driving range: Open year-round, weather permitting. 

18-hole course: Closed for the season.

2021 season memberships: Now available for purchase. Learn more.

Platform Tennis

Group lessons: The winter session is ongoing. Spring classes start April 5. Register online.

Court reservations: Singles and doubles allowed. Patrons must reserve and pay in advance online

Paddle Hut: The paddle hut is closed. Access to the restrooms is available.

Admin Office

The administrative office is open weekdays from 8:30am-5pm. Face coverings are required.

 

Refunds

A credit will be applied to your household automatically for all programs and facility rentals that are canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A refund (instead of a credit) can be given if requested.

Parks, Fields & Playgrounds

All parks, fields, playground, and other open spaces are currently open. Please follow CDC and IDPH health and safety guidelines when using parks, playgrounds, and other open spaces, including:

  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Wash your hands before and after visiting the playground
  • Maintain a physical distance of at least six feet and wear a face covering

Water fountains are closed, so please plan accordingly when visiting parks. Playgrounds are not sanitized or cleaned.

Park Ice Rinks: Due to COVID-19 health and safety concerns, Indian Hill and Northfield Parks will not be flooded for the 2020-21 winter season. Gullen’s Pond and the Winnetka Ice Arena will be available for public skating.
