Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Playgrounds, Parks & Other Outdoor Recreation Areas

In order to comply with Governor Pritzker’s statewide stay-at-home order (State of Illinois Executive Order 2020-10), the Park District has enacted the following:

Playgrounds Closed

All district playgrounds are closed to public use until further notice.

Golf Course Closed

The Winnetka Golf Club is closed for public use until further notice, including the 18-hole course, the par 3 course, practice greens, and driving range.

Courts Closed

The outdoor tennis and platform tennis courts are closed until further notice. This action was taken to abide by Social Distancing Requirements and has taken into consideration the closure of other area park district courts.

Parks Open

Individuals may engage in outdoor activity at public parks, provided Social Distancing Requirements are met.

Social Distancing Requirements include maintaining at least a six-foot distance from other individuals, washing hands frequently, covering coughs or sneezes, regularly cleaning high-touch surfaces, and not shaking hands.

Programs & Facilities

All scheduled Winnetka Park District programs have been canceled and facilities closed to the public until further notice. The health and safety of our patrons is our number one priority and this decision was made to help support the CDC’s recommendation of social distancing and Governor Pritzker’s stay-at-home order issued issued on 3/20/2020.

The Park District will continue to assess conditions and notify the community when programs and operations resume. Information will be emailed and posted to our website and Facebook pages.

Staff/Contact

All staff members will be following the state directive to take drastic measures to slow the spread of the coronavirus. In this regard, and for the duration of the state order, only the most essential staff positions will continue to report to work at the Park District properties to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our parks and facilities.

Staff are available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm and can be contacted via phone or email. Staff contact information is available here.
