Robert E. Burke Memorial Park Rededication

Posted November 09, 2017

Join the Winnetka Park District and Winnetka Police Department on Saturday November 11 as we rededicate the Robert E. Burke Memorial Park.

In 1957, Robert Burke, a Winnetka police officer, was killed in the line of duty. In 1997, the Robert E. Burke Memorial Park was dedicated to and named in honor of the officer. After 20 years of wear and tear, the original park sign had deteriorated and was in need of replacement. A local high school student requested permission to refurbish the sign for his Eagle Scout project, and it is now complete.

On Saturday, November 11 at 11am, a short ceremony will be held at Robert E. Burke Memorial Park to rededicate the park and remember the officer for his contributions to the community.
