Advanced Beginner
This player may have had some lessons but needs on-court experience; has obvious stroke weaknesses but is beginning to feel comfortable with singles and doubles play.

Intermediate I
This player has more dependable strokes and is learning to judge where the ball is going; has weak court coverage or is often caught out of position but is starting to keep the ball in play with other players of the same ability.

Intermediate II
This player can place shots with moderate success;
can sustain a rally of slow pace but is not comfortable with all strokes; lacks control when trying for power.

Advanced I
This player has achieved stroke dependability and direction on shots within reach, including forehand and backhand volleys, but still lacks depth and variety; seldom double faults and occasionally forces errors on the serve.

Advanced II
This player has dependable strokes on both forehand and backhand sides; has the ability to use a variety of shots including lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys; can place the first serve and force some errors; moves well on the court, is seldom out of position in doubles.

Advanced III
This player has good shot anticipation; frequently has an outstanding shot or exceptional consistency. Can regularly hit winners off short balls; can consistently execute deep shots, half volleys and put away overhead smashes. Has good depth and spin on most second serves.

Placement - Please Read
Due to the concerns raised by students and staff regarding the range of abilities in the adult classes, the teaching staff conducts an evaluation of all students in our lesson program. If you have any questions regarding your appropriate level, please contact Tim Schmidt or Alexander Shubny before registration. Due to time constraints during the registration process, pros will not be available to discuss changes in levels. New students can estimate their level from the descriptions above and are encouraged to make an appointment to hit with a pro to ensure placement in the appropriate level.

Adult Cardio Tennis
Cardio Tennis is an exciting way to get in shape and burn calories on the court. By elevating your heart rate into your aerobic training zone, you can burn more calories than during singles or doubles tennis. Each hour-long class includes a 10 minutes warm-up, 40 minutes of aerobic workout, and 10 minutes of cool down.

Men and women of all tennis ability levels are welcome. An effective workout will be achieved by all, as the tennis pro will challenge each player at his/her ability and fitness level.

A minimum of 4 student per class is required.
