Family Camp Out

A “Night Out” For The Entire Family! Join the Winnetka Park District’s beach staff for an exciting camp out at Tower Road Beach. We’ll sing songs around the campfire, tell ghost stories, and roast marshmallows. Grills will be available for families who wish to cook out. The professional storyteller will begin at dusk. Water Carnival

If You’re Not Wet, You’re Not Having Fun! Kids of all ages are invited to Tower Road Beach for non-stop beach games, contests and fun in the sun.


Summer Concert - Final Say

Final Concert Of The Summer Season! A musical repertoire that extends from the beginning of rock & roll, through today’s hit music. Everything from Alternative, Classic Rock, Soul, Motown, New Wave, Big Hair Rock, R & B, the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.


Touch A Truck
Saturday, September 6 • 10-11:30 am
FREE Family Event! Excavators, fire trucks and dump trucks are just some of the exciting vehicles that kids (up to age 10) can climb on and explore at the “Touch a Truck” event. Come to the north end of the Winnetka Ice Arena.

Learn More About Paddle! New to Winnetka and looking to get to know other families? Wanting to learn about this sport called paddle or just go out for some friendly play and camaraderie? Matt Garavaglia will give a short clinic and organize play. Fee includes appetizers and soft drinks.

Jumpin’ Junior High Paddle Night
Saturday, October 11 • 6-9 pm
7th - 8th Grade Only Event! Attention 7th and 8th graders; this is your night! Pizza and paddle are on tap in this night just for Junior High kids. Matt Garavaglia will lead the kids and we’ll conclude the night with pizza.

Middle School Haunted House Tour
Friday, October 17 • 6-10 pm
A Middle School Only Event! Why go to just one haunted house when you can go to two? Middle school students are invited to come along as we board a bus and tour local haunted houses. The tour will feature pizza and pop before the bus leaves as well as admission to all three haunted houses. Don’t’ miss out on the one-of-a-kind tour to get you in the Halloween spirit! Space is limited to the first ten kids who register. Pre-registration by October 13 is required for this event.

A Note To Parents: Please make sure that your child is comfortable attending a haunted house before sending them on this trip.

Halloween Haunted Hayride
Friday, October 24 • 7-9 pm
Free Family Event! Let the Winnetka Park District take you on a ride you’ll never forget! This annual event conjures up the scary sights and sounds of monsters and mummies. The haunted ride is not for the faint of heart. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants should meet at Skokie Playfield.

Volunteers are needed for the Haunted Hayride!! If you, your group, or organization would like to volunteer, please call (847) 501-2040.

Halloween Party On Ice
Saturday, October 25
1:40-2:55 pm
Free Admission With Canned Food Item! Skate in costume at this annual Halloween event at the Winnetka Ice Arena. Event will include scary music, candy, and lots of kids. Please bring a canned food item for the New Trier Food Pantry. An event for the entire family!

Wishbone Classic Youth Hockey Tournament
November 26 - November 30
Free Admission! Great Youth Hockey Action! This tournament attracts some of the finest youth teams from throughout the U.S. and Canada. Numerous teams have won national titles after competing at the Winnetka Ice Arena.

Turkey Day Skate
Thursday, November 27
10:30 am-2 pm
Special Admission Price: Just $2 Burn off a few calories before Thanksgiving dinner and enjoy a special skate day at the Winnetka Ice Arena.

Please Note: Public skating is cancelled Friday - Sunday (Thanksgiving Weekend) due to Wishbone Tournament.

USTA Level 7 (entry level) Junior Tennis Tournaments
The A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center will be conducting USTA Level 7 (entry level) junior tournaments. These tournaments are for junior players, 8 - 16 years of age seeking tournament experience. The format is 8 game pro-set with no ad scoring, with each player guaranteed two matches.
