Youth Lacrosse

Girls Spring Lacrosse
Be a part of a youth lacrosse league exclusively for girls from Winnetka, Northfield, Glencoe, Lake Forest, Glenview, Northbrook, Highland Park, Kenilworth, and Wilmette. The emphasis of this program is to develop the girl within the sport of lacrosse. The goals of the program are to understand the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship, and fostering personal development in a respectful environment led by positive coaching. All players will receive equal playing time and will be played in all positions. Games will be played on Sundays afternoons.

Registration is a two step process

  1. Registration through WPD

  2. www.iglax.org website registration for t-shirt sizing, participant/team information, game schedule and field location. If you are interested in being a “Parent Volunteer Coach” lease let us know during the website registration process.

Each player must also have goggles, a stick, and a mouth guard. Sticks and goggles will be provided to use for each practice and game at no charge for players new to the league, unless a player would like to use their own. Returning players should bring their own goggles, sticks, and mouth guards to all practices and games.

Boys Spring Lacrosse
Team One Lacrosse offers the highest quality approach to teaching, learning, and developing the game of lacrosse. John Combs, Phil Ryan and the staff of Team One bring 20+ years of professional, collegiate, high school and club coaching experience to offer the optimal lacrosse opportunity. Youth lacrosse players develop mental, physical and emotional growth on and off the playing field, while progressing through a pyramid of services structured to develop the beginner through the elite high school player. All players receive a uniform. Full equipment must be worn and can be purchased through Team One. Please handle all equipment requests prior to the first day of practice.

Grades 2/3 (Bantam) and Grades 4/5 (Lightning)
Beginners and experienced players will be placed properly in order to learn the game and develop
skills. They will be exposed to drill work, scrimmages and games.

Grades 6/7 (Juniors) and Grade 8 (Seniors)
Players will learn about the game of lacrosse and develop their skills through drill work, scrimmages and games. Players will be divided based on skill level in order to optimize their development.

Lacrosse Equipment
Mandatory equipment consists of stick, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, and helmet (hockey helmets are acceptable). Equipment may be purchased through Team One Lacrosse at www.team1lax.com.

Bantam - Seniors will compete in the North Shore Lacrosse League. New this year, the NSLL has been formed to allow park district’s to compete against each other allowing for maximum game situations. All games will be played on Sundays between 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Games schedules and information will be posted on the Team One Lacrosse website at www.team1lax.com.

Adult Men’s Lacrosse League
Team One will be offering the most competitive summer men’s league in Illinois. Whether you are a graduating senior, a college player home for the summer or an old timer looking to play again - this league is for you! Register your team, or free agents will be accepted and placed on a team. Divisions will be made based on skill level of participants.

Community Room Rental
The community room is available for
small gathering and meetings for approximately 40 people. The rental fee is $25 per hour for residents and $50 per hour for non-residents. For more information, call (847) 501-2040.
