The Winnetka Park District and Noah’s Ark Pet Store staff are hosting the 11th Annual Dog Party at Centennial Beach, which you and your dog will not want to miss. This event gets more popular every year. Please remember to bring your leash (park rules).

Father’s Day Continental Breakfast

Spend The Day With Dad!

Moms and kids should plan on taking Dad down to Tower Road Beach on Father’s Day for a delicious continental breakfast with the scenic lakefront as a backdrop. This is the eighth year of the event, which has grown in popularity each year. So bring your family, invite your friends, and after breakfast, stay to enjoy the music of our summer series opening concert. See page eight for concert details.

Firecracker 5K Race
Saturday, July 3 • 8 am
On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Runners meet at the Village Green, rain or shine. Runners may register at the Winnetka Park District office or send in the completed form (see middle insert) by June 30. Awards will be given for overall male and female winners and individual age group winners for males and females.

1 1/2 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk

A Great Way To Start Your Family’s July 4th Festivities

Not interested in a competitive run? Then come out for the Family Fun Run/Walk. You may walk, run, push baby strollers, or pull wagons (no bike riding please). Participants may register at the Park District office or send in the enclosed form (see middle insert) by June 30. There is no fee for this race. Meet at the Village Green for check-in and instruction. Check-in begins at 8:00 am.

Winnetka Fourth of July 2010
New Time For Parade & Events on the Green

The celebration begins with Winnetka’s annual parade on Sunday, July 4 at 1:00 pm. The parade sets off from the corner of Elm and Glendale Streets, and heads east to the Village Green. A flag-raising ceremony, children’s flag parade, and family races follow the parade on the Green at 2:00 pm.

From 6:30-8:30 pm at Duke Child’s Field, the District presents “Fourth Fest,” featuring food, children’s entertainment, and a pre-fireworks concert.

Our spectacular fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. See our middle insert for all the July 4 festivities.

Teen DJ Concert at Tower Road Beach
Wednesday, July 14 • 7-9 pm
Free For 5th - 8th Graders!

Come to the beach for a free concert this summer. A DJ will take requests. Bring friends, play volleyball, frisbee or just hang out. Open to students in grades 5-8. The concerts are supervised by Park District staff members.

Water Carnival

If You’re Not Wet, You’re Not Having Fun!

Kids of all ages are invited to Tower Road Beach for non-stop beach games, contests and fun in the sun.

Join the Winnetka Park District’s beach staff for an exciting camp out at Tower Road Beach. Grills will be available for families who wish to cook out. The movie, “Shark Tale” will be shown at dusk. Bring your family and friends to one of the beaches most popular events.
