Skokie Playfield Neighbors Meeting Planned

Phase II of the Skokie Playfield Master Plan will begin mid-October 2012.
Phase two of the project includes the water management project on the athletic fields and improvements to the driving range that will also serve to control water. This project is expected to extend deep into the 2013 calendar year. During the construction significant truck travel along Hibbard Road and Willow Road (west) will take place for 6-8 months. As a part of the plan a significant amount of earth will be moved to create the storage for water when it rains.
During the construction, the Winnetka Park District intends to be “good neighbors” and minimize the inconvenience to our neighbor, as much as possible.
The Winnetka Park District will host a Skokie Playfield pre-construction meeting for neighbors and interested community members. The purpose of the meeting is to describe the activity that will take place and what residents might expect to happen over the next few months as the District initiate the project to completion.
