Habitat Restoration Project At Skokie Lagoons

Join the Winnetka Park District, BackYard Nature Center and the Cook County Forest Preserve Steward for a day of service and habitat restoration in the Skokie Lagoons! Participants 4th grade and older will have the opportunity to use saws and loppers to remove invasive buckthorn trees, while younger children can beautify the lagoons by collecting trash with their parents. Everyone will have an opportunity to learn about the history and ecology of this wonderful local resource. Feel free to bring your own hot dogs, s’mores, or anything else you would like to cook over an open brush pile fire. All tools will be provided. We will meet at the corner of Tower Road and Forestway Drive under the BackYard Nature Center Banner.

Please Note: All minors must have an adult present to sign waiver for the Cook County Forest Preserve.
