Doggy Date Night: Pupcorn and a Movie

Make a date for you and your dog with a special screening of Walt Disney’s 1961 animated classic, 101 Dalmatians, at Centennial Park! A dog obstacle course will be available to challenge your canine’s agility.

All dog-loving families (regardless of ownership) are welcome to attend. If you’re considering adding a dog to your family, this is an excellent opportunity for your children to interact with dogs and learn about adoption opportunities.

4th Annual Winnetka Whiffle Ball Challenge

Show everyone you can be the King of the Sandlot with the 4th annual Winnetka Whiffle Ball Challenge. Held in conjunction with Fall Fest, this tournament will pit the best whiffle ball players in town against each other in a mission to win the coveted Championship Cup. Teams will consist of 5 players. Please direct all questions to Greg Sauber at gsauber@winpark.org.

Captain’s meeting will be held September 17 at 6:00 pm in the WPD Community Room, 540 Hibbard Road.

Bike Winnetka

Bike Winnetka takes bicycle riders of all ages through scenic Winnetka in a group ride format. (All riders must wear a helmet, or will be unable to participate.) Thanks to the generosity of our partners, the cost of this event is only $6 per person.

Registration is limited to the first 300 riders and ends September 12 at 12 pm. (NO on-site registration will be allowed).

Bike Winnetka Supporters Needed!
There are three areas of support still needed for this year’s Bike Winnetka:

  • Back-up Marshals along the route (fill open slots not filled by Boy Scout Troop #20)
  • Home owners along the route allowing support signs (see winpark.org for route)
  • Volunteers to create support signs on Thursday, September 10 at 3:30 or 4:00 pm in the Community Room (great for service project, scout group, or young child with parent)

Fall Fest

Join us for our annual Fall Fest event. Celebrate our community and delightful parks with good food and drinks, family, friends, and lots of memorable fun for the kids.

Parent Child Round Robin

Parent's Night Out

Take a night off and have some time to yourself while your kids enjoy dinner and a movie on us. Come watch as an ordinary Lego construction worker, prophesied as ‘special,’ is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis. Prior to our feature presentation of the The Lego Movie, kids will be supervised for open gym and pizza will be served. Have your kids bring a sleeping bag, blanket, or pillows so they can enjoy the movie in comfort.

Pumpkins on the Beach

Tower Road Beach

Tower Road Beach will be transformed into a pumpkin patch for family fun this Halloween season. There will be pumpkin decorating, carnival games, and lots of excitement. The Costume Contest will start around 5:30 pm ending at 6:10 pm. The costume categories include: most original, scariest, funniest, and most decked out. Please be aware that this is a family friendly event. There will still be sound effects, props, and staff in costumes, but it is not designed to scare children.

Lloyd Beach's Haunted Trail of Terror

It’s the end of the world and you and your friends are the human race’s last hope! Survive the twists and turns of Lloyd Beach, and avoid being caught by the ghouls and monsters that now inhabit the area. The daring souls who choose to make it down to the beach will experience hair-raising thrills, as they visit the graveyard of the spirits, enter the Insane Boathouse (at your own risk), and walk along the monster infested beach. Can you make it through the Trail of Terror and save mankind?

Family Campfire

Do visions of sugar plums dance in your head during the holiday season? Register your organization, club, troop, neighborhood, or family to decorate your very own tree in Dwyer Park. Each group is responsible for their own decorations. Decorated trees will stay up until January 3, and taken down on January 4.

No glass decorations will be allowed. Additionally, please keep in mind that there is no electricity for the trees.
