Park Board Information

Park Board meetings are held twice monthly on Thursdays. These public meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Winnetka Park District Administrative Office, 540 Hibbard Road. For more information, please call (847) 501-2040.

Richard PierceRichard Pierce - President, 1550 Tower Rd., (847) 446-5967
Pierce and his wife have resided in Winnetka for eighteen years.  Their son currently attends The Washburne School. Pierce received his B.A. in History from Lawrence University, M.A. in History from University of Toronto, M.S. in Education from Northwestern University and his J.D. from Loyola University School of Law.  For the past fifteen years he has been teaching Advanced Placement European History and Constitutional Law at A.E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire.  During that time he served as a consultant to the College Board AP Program.

Preceding his career in education, Pierce held the position of Associate Counsel at Francorp, a franchise development consulting firm.  For the previous thirteen years he was an independent futures trader at the Chicago Board of Trade.  Pierce served on the Board of Directors of the Old Willow Club as Director of Buildings and Grounds.

Pierce currently is Park Board representative to the Outdoor Pool Task Force and the Winnetka Parks Foundation.


Brad McLane Brad McLane - Vice President, 593 Provident Ave, (847) 441-0985
McLane has been a resident of Winnetka for 13 years. He and his wife, Dede, have three children, two at New Trier and one, age 5, in the Winnetka Community Nursery School program.  Brad holds a BA degree from Yale in Architecture and Organizational Behavior, an accounting certificate from Cornell and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Chicago Booth GSB. For the past 10 years, he has been an executive search consultant with Russell Reynolds Associates where he started their Chief Marketing Officer practice and co-leads their Consumer Products practice. Prior to that, he held marketing and brand manager roles with Ralston Purina in St. Louis and Coca-Cola in Houston, which was followed by two entrepreneurial, start-up businesses in Houston.   He started his career as a “liberal arts program” auditor with Price Waterhouse in their New York office.

McLane served as Chair of the Winnetka Caucus Council in 2001 and as Chair of the Village Committee in 2000.  He was a Commissioner on the Winnetka Plan Commission (2002-2005) and a board member on the Winnetka Parks Foundation (2002 to 2008) and a board member of the Winnetka Paddle Tennis Club (2003 to 2007). Brad has been involved in a number of youth programs in the Village including set building and acting in the Winnetka Children’s Theater; and coaching in the Kenilworth Winnetka Baseball Association, Winnetka Park District softball program and the House League Hockey Program.


John DiColaJhn DiCola - Commissioner

DiCola, his wife and three children have been Winnetka residents since 2005. His children attend both Crow Island and Winnetka Nursery schools. John is the founder of Deeks Group LLC an Internet marketing firm. Prior to Deeks, DiCola worked at Google running their Chicago office for 5 years and their Retail business for 2 years. Additionally John serves as an advisor to several start-ups and non-profits. He has a BA in Political Science from Denison University.

 

Edward Harney Edward J. Harney - Commissioner, 535 Oak St.,  (847) 446-7294
Harney has been a resident of Winnetka for over 40 years. He and his wife have two children, age 12 and 10, both attending North Shore Country Day School. The Harney family are active users of our great beaches, parks, boat launching, and recreational programming.  Harney holds a BA in Economics from Northwestern University and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from DePaul University.  Harney is a member of the National Accounts team at Beam Global Spirits & Wine with prior experience at Quaker Oats/Pepsico, GE Capital, and the Richelieu Group.

Harney has been active in numerous local youth sports programs and has been a volunteer coach in the AYSO organization for over five years. He was Co-Chair of the Winnetka Caucus Council in 2006, having chaired the Village Candidate Committee in 2005 and the Schools Committee in 2004, and was elected to the Winnetka Community House Board of Governor’s in 2008.


Gerri KahnweilerGerri Kahnweiler - Commissioner

Kahnweiler has been a resident of Winnetka for 13 Years. She and her husband have four children, two in college, one at New Trier and one at North Shore Country Day School. Kahnweiler holds a BS degree in Accounting from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and a MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She currently is employed as a philanthropy consultant by Arabella Philanthropic Investment Advisors with title of Senior Associate.

Kahnweiler has been an active trustee on the Jewish Women’s Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago, serving as Chair of both the Health and Wellbeing Committee and Evaluation Committee.  She also serves on the board of Personal Pac.  Among her numerous local activities, she has served as a Peer Jury Adult Advocate and chair of the Health and Human Service Committee of New Trier Township, Treasurer of the Winnetka Parks Foundation and various school related activities including Treasurer of several PTAs.


Susan SnyderSusan Snyder - Commissione

Snyder has a Bachelors of Science in Economics from University of the Pacific and an MBA from Harvard. She worked for AT&T Wireless as their Vice President of Operations. She has served as Crow Island PTA president. Snyder has lived in Winnetka for 15 years. She has 3 active boys.
 
Snyder currently is Park Board representative to the Outdoor Pool Task Force.



Bob Vanden BoschBob Vanden Bosch - Commissioner

Vanden Bosch, was born in Chicago in 1936. He was educated at Georgetown University (philosophy and English, 1958) and University of Chicago (MBA, 1964). He has been a Winnetka resident since 1970.

His entire business career was spent with Harris Bank Organization, a total of 41 years. The first 27 years involved commercial/international banking responsibilities including an 8 year stint running the bank’s London branch and 4 years running the firm’s overall international endeavors. In 1986, Bob moved over to Harris Investment Management as a Senior Partner heading up the client service/portfolio management unit. He retired in June, 2000.

In retirement, Vanden Bosch serves as a Board member of Executive Service Corps and previously served as Board member of the Winnetka Zoning Appeals Board, President and Board member of United Way – Winnetka/Northfield, United Way North Shore and Advisory Board United Way Metropolitan Chicago. He is Chair and Trustee of the Executive Service Corps Endowment Fund and is on the Advisory Board of Turning Point a non-profit organization in Skokie.
 
He has been married for 42 years to Nan and has two daughters, Julie and Molly, living in Virginia and Dubai, respectively.

Vanden Bosch currently is Park Board representative to the Winnetka Parks Foundation.
