The Winnetka Ice Arena is proud to announce our Minor Hawks Hockey Class program, affiliated with the Chicago Blackhawks. Participants in all Mini Hawks, Little Hawks, and Junior Hawks classes will receive a free Minor Hawks jersey!

Our classes are designed to teach the aspiring hockey player the skills needed to enjoy the great game of hockey. Whether your objective is to improve your hockey skills or just learn skating on a recreational basis, we have something for you. Our highly skilled professional staff have years of experience at teaching young hockey players the fundamentals of hockey and skating.

ALL participants must wear a hockey helmet with mask during class. We have a limited number of free helmets available during class.

Mini Hawks
4 - 5.5 years (Formerly Ice Mice)
Participants wear hockey skates and have little or no experience. Class will focus on how to adjust to hockey skates, fall and stand, balance and forward stride. Our goal is to build the foundation of hockey skating skills in a fun environment.

Little Hawks

(Prerequisite: 2 sessions of Ice Mice or instructor recommendation)
Little Warriors is designed to give the aspiring hockey player instruction on skating in addition to stick handling and shooting. We emphasize fundamentals while incorporating fun drills and games. Helmetwith mask, shin pads, elbow pads, and gloves are required.

Creative Skating, Stick Handling & Shooting

This class gives advanced skaters the opportunity to improve skating skills while becoming more comfortable handling the puck and shooting. Skaters should have strong skating skills.
